The Africa Climate and Health Data Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN) Fellowship is a program designed to create a network of data science professionals who will finetune their existing skills to address challenges at the intersection of climate and health. Fellows will work on practical projects, receive mentorship, and participate in training sessions to develop innovative solutions and contribute to sustainable development. Fellows are embedded in public sector and social impact sector offices for a period of 5 months supporting a use case (project) selected by the Global Partnership. These projects may require fellows to work with the project teams to analyze and visualize data, write reports, create dashboards, models, further develop software etc.

Application and selection criteria:
Candidates must have successfully completed a first university degree, and demonstrate a capacity to undertake independent advanced academic research and study.
Candidates must have 3 years working experience in data management, analysis and visualization.
Candidates must have good communication skills and possess good quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills.
Candidates must have strong expertise in technology, systems development, big data, open data and data science.
Candidates should have working knowledge of the contexts of African countries, in respect to climate and health.
This is a full time position. Candidates must be available to carry out duties. The selected fellows will be expected to participate in different activities and to strictly follow the programme.
